The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) take place every year on the third weekend in September. Highly-anticipated by fans of cultural outings, this not-to-be-missed event is synonymous with good deals andnew openings. For the occasion, Paris and the whole of the Île-de-France region get in on the act, offering a rich program of events in every corner of the region. Over the course of the weekend, you'll be able to take advantage of often-free tours, unusual events and original workshops, and there's so much to do and see that it's hard not to find a favorite outing to match your passion.
The Journées du Patrimoine is also an opportunity toexplore places that are usually closed to the public. For this 41st edition, scheduled for the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024, Samusocial is exceptionally opening the doors of its headquarters, in the heart of theHospice Saint-Michel, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, a stone's throw from the town of Saint-Mandé. Since 1996, this building, dating from 1830 and classified as a historical monument, has been home to this group of non-governmental solidarity associations whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged.
The Hospice Saint-Michel, a listed historic monument, is home to several establishments and services, including the "La Maison dans le Jardin" day center, a night shelter, Lits Halte Soins Santé and Samusocial de Paris's professional integration service, all of which cater for people in precarious and excluded situations.
