The traditional baguette, the famous Paris rooftops or a wine celebration in Arbois? Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot will have to decide between the three French applicants to UNESCO Intangible Heritage.

Only one can remain. In 2022, France will have to present only one applicant to be listed as part of UNESCO Intangible Heritage. And Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot has to decided by mid-March before submitting her choice to Head of State Emmanuel Macron. And this Tuesday February 16, 2021 France knows which elements of the French heritage can aspire to sit in such section.

So far, three candidates have been listed: the famous Paris rooftops (which registration project dates back from 2014), the traditional baguette (which know-how has been listed since November 2018 as France Intangible Cultural Heritage), as well as the Fête du Biou d’Arbois, a wine celebration also listed as France Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Only one of the applicants will be submitted by the country to aspire to be given the famous label. Every year, it is granted to a hundred files and enables to shine a light on their touristic appeal and save them thanks to World Heritage Fund.

So, which of these applicants do you think should be listed as UNESCO Intangible Heritage?
