For several years Navigo has been said to make it to smartphones so people can wave goodbye to the pass and transport tickets. But implementing it takes time for we have to make sure the digital technology used works well before the official launch. To do so, Ile-de-France Mobilités offers their users to become testers with their phones, on the condition they have Android featuring the 8th or above version.
For the time being, iPhone users are left on the side, but expected to join the system within late 2023, when the possibility will be generalized to the general public. To take part in the premiere, you have to travel to Paris or its inner suburbs, have an NFC-compatible phone and sign up online. Then, you will have to download the Ile-de-France Mobilités and Mes Tickets Navigo applications and use them to validate your trips!
Over the years, the Navigo pass has grown into a major key in the life of Île-de-France inhabitants, allowing them to get access to cheaper activities, rent a car or even be included to their credit cards.
