Scheduled to open in December 2023, the Commune residence, dedicated to single-parent families, will accommodate a total of 14 families on two floors in the town of Poissy, served by the Transilien (line J) and the RER A.
La Commune de Poissy, as the residence is known, is the very first in France to be entirely dedicated to single parents and their children: a godsend for those single moms and dads who have to cope with everyday family life on their own. So, the residence has chosen the aesthetics of a family home, with colorful shutters, a paved inner courtyard, a garden planted with trees... To achieve this, the project necessitated the total renovation of an existing building to enable future families living at Commune to juggle family life in complete privacy with more convivial moments shared among the residence's tenants.
Two types of space have been considered: the first are shared, designed for social interaction and conviviality, while other spaces are more private and more dedicated to relaxation. Children will love the garden, adults the sunny terrace. In each of the family apartments available for rent, you'll find a parent's bedroom, a child's bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchenette and various kinds of storage space. In addition, each tenant family will also have access to shared spaces, including a kitchen and dining room, a multi-purpose playroom for children, a laundry room, a coworking space, a garden, the inner courtyard and a relaxation area for parents.
If you're interested in the project, applications to join Commune are already open: however, living in such a residence comes at a price: for one parent and one child, prices start at €1,190 per month; for a trio offer (one parent and two children), expect to pay at least €1,390 per month, bearing in mind that these rates include rent, utilities and basic services.
