The SNCF is offering a brand-new concept: a comedy club on a train. This Thursday, October 17, 2024, the first test of the TGV Inoui Comedy Club will take place on a TGV between Paris and Lille, and the first guest will be comedian Baptiste Lecaplain! For a number of years now, SNCF has been experimenting with new ways of providing entertainment on TGVs, notably by making it possible to watch a selection of films, series, documentaries, etc. on a Portal offering free content.

This first test, taking place next Thursday, is not open to the public, however, but only to the press and a few influencers. The new TGV Inoui Comedy Club concept will take place in one of the TGV's bar cars, transformed into a mini stand-up room. According to BFM TV, the aim of the first test is to get feedback so that, if it works well, it can be rolled out more widely next year.
On social networks, the news gave rise to a number of jokes aimed at the SNCF, with many feeling that the TGV Inoui Comedy Club should not be the SNCF's priority right now.
Baptiste Lecaplain, the first comedian to test the new TGV Inoui concept on Thursday October 17, is well known on the Parisian comedy scene. Lecaplain has even set up his own comedy club in 2022 in central Paris, called The Joke.
