Some people are just starting to look forward to the All Saints' vacation , while others are already anticipating the Christmas vacations. And the timing is perfect, since the SNCF is now selling train tickets for the Christmas vacations, which start for all zones on December 21, 2024 and end on January 6, 2025.
"Under normal circumstances, you can buy your train tickets 4 months in advance for TGV INOUI and INTERCITES trains. For the Christmas, Winter, Spring and Summer vacation periods, there will be an exceptional opening of sales on a fixed date", reminds the SNCF.
More concretely, since 6 a.m. on October 2 , it has been possible to book travel on TGV, Intercités and Ouigo Grande Vitesse trains between December 15, 2024 and January 8, 2025. During this period, two public holidays ( December 25 and January 1) will enable French people to enjoy extended weekends or take longer trips to the four corners of the country. And travellers will be jumping at the chance to escape to the mountains, countryside or city during their Christmas vacations. But what about travel later, between January 9 and March 30, 2025? Ticketing for this period will open on November 13.
A word of advice: don't delay, because the earlier you book, the more you'll benefit from low-price tickets! And if something comes up and you have to cancel or postpone your trip, don't panic, because tickets for Inoui TGV trains are refundable and exchangeable free of charge up to and including 7 days before departure. From 6 days before departure, the conditions of your ticket apply. Expect to pay €19 per person per journey on TGV Inoui trains.
