While many French children are currently on vacation, a decree published in the Journal Officiel (the official gazette) unveils, zone by zone, the school vacation calendar for the year 2024-2025. All students will return to school on Monday, September 2, 2024. They will then be able to take advantage of a new vacation, the All Saints' vacation, starting on October 19.
When are the All Saints' vacations scheduled for ? When will Zone C students be on vacation in spring 2025? A decree published in the Journal Officiel sets out the school vacation schedule for 2024-2025.
Classes will resume for all students on Monday, September 2, 2024. After that, students will be able to take a breather from October 19 for the All Saints' vacation. Then it's on to the Christmas vacations, from Saturday December 21, 2024 to Monday January 6, 2025. For the winter and spring vacations in 2025, students in zone C will be the second to leave, after those in zone B and before those in zone A. Finally, the school year will end on July 5, 2025.

Vacations start on the days indicated, after school. For students who do not have classes on Saturdays, vacations begin on Fridays after school. Classes resume on the mornings of the days indicated.
The decree published in the Journal Officiel goes even further, revealing the school calendar for the following school year. For the 2025-2026 school year, pupils will start the new school year on Monday September 1, 2025, while they will be able to go on summer vacation as early as Saturday July 4, 2026.
The three zones A, B and C are recalled:
- Zone A: the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers.
- Zone B: Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg.
- Zone C: Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles.
As for bridges and public holidays in 2024-2025, All Saints' Day will allow the luckiest of us to enjoy a three-day weekend, while Christmas 2024 will fall on a Wednesday. Some people are already thinking of taking a break around May 1 and May 8. Finally, two extended weekends are also on the horizon, thanks to the Fête nationale and the Assomption.
