SNCF strike this Thursday: traffic forecasts for Transilien and RER trains

Bad news for public transport users in the Paris region. A strike by railway workers is scheduled for Thursday November 21, 2024. The consequences? In Paris and the Ile-de-France region, traffic is expected to be "disrupted on certain Transilien lines" and "very disrupted" on RER lines B and D. Discover the traffic forecasts.

If you're planning to take the RER or a Transilien train this Thursday, November 21, 2024, then you'll need to plan ahead. Due to a nationwide industrial action at SNCF, disruptions are expected on the Transilien network. " Traffic disrupted on certain Transilien lines " this Thursday, November 21, says the SNCF on the Transilien website. The national strike is expected to affect traffic on several Transilien lines: H, J, N, R and U.

This strike by SNCF railway workers, called by the intersyndicale union, will also affect the RER network in Paris and the Île-de-France region. Slight disruptions are expected on RER lines C and E, while traffic will be"very disrupted" on RER lines B and D.

So what exactly can we expect this Thursday? No black day is expected on public transport: SNCF is announcing"near-normal" trafficon TGVs. On the other hand, disruptions are to be expected on regional and Intercités lines.

RER traffic forecasts

  • RER A: normal traffic

  • RER B: traffic disrupted. Expect 1 train out of 2 in the North and 3 trains out of 4 on average in the South. No change of train at Gare du Nord.

  • RER C: traffic disrupted. Expect 2 out of 3 trains.

  • RER D: traffic very heavily disrupted. Expect 2 trains out of 5 on average between Creil and Corbeil Essonnes and between Goussainville and Melun, then 1 train out of 3 (morning and evening rush hours only) between Juvisy and Melun, Malesherbes.

  • RER E: traffic disrupted. Expect 3 out of 4 trains. Nanterre la Folie - Magenta shuttles will run normally.

Transilien, traffic forecasts

  • Line H: traffic disrupted. Expect 1 train out of 2 on the entire line.

  • Line J: traffic disrupted. Expect 2 out of 3 trains.

  • K line: normal traffic.

  • Line L: normal traffic.

  • Line N: traffic disrupted. Expect 1 train out of 2.

  • Line P: normal traffic.

  • Line R: very heavily disrupted traffic. Expect 2 out of 3 trains. No trains will run on the Héricy line.

  • Line U: traffic disrupted. Expect 2 out of 3 trains.
