The social climate is tense in France. In recent days, strike notices and calls for rallies have been issued in a number of sectors, including air transport, the civil service, the medical sector, agriculture and the SNCF.
The RATP is also concerned. A strike notice has been issued for Friday November 15, 2024. However, the strike is not affecting the entire RATP network. Only metro line 5, which runs between Place d'Italie and Bobigny- Pablo Picasso, in Seine-Saint-Denis, will be affected.
On its website, the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) is announcing " very disrupted " traffic on this famous line 5 this Friday, November 15. During the 24-hour strike, only two metros out of five are expected to run on line 5, according to RATP.
In view of this local industrial action and the traffic disruptions forecast, passengers on line 5 are advised to plan ahead for this Friday. " As a result, line 4 will be reinforced and station agents will be deployed as reinforcements," RATP also states on its website.
Line 5 is usually heavily used by users of the RATP network. It serves République, as well as three SNCF stations: Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est and Gare d'Austerlitz.
