The RATP has pulled off a major communications coup! Via the official account of its mascot, Serge le Lapin, the transport authority announced that it would be replacing him with THE star Pokémon of the Japanese saga, Pikachu, for Pokemon Day. And it's in a tweet that we discover the famous sticker where your favorite rabbit gets his fingers stuck.
About Serge le Lapin, a little history: Serge has been the RATP 's prevention mascot since February 15, 1977, when cartoonist Anne Le Lagadec created him to make young passengers aware of the risks of pinching fingers in metro doors. Initially dressed in red overalls, in 1986 he adopted a flashier yellow outfit under the pencil of Serge Maury, whose first name he gradually adopted.
In 2014, the 4uatre agency modernized his appearance to adapt it to the new trains and safety messages, notably on the landing doors of line 14. Since 2017, Serge le Lapin has also been featured on stickers affixed near escalators to warn of potential dangers. Discover his full story here :
