Bad news for users of line 6. After several partial traffic disruptions last autumn and this winter, RATP is announcing further disruptions on this busy Paris metro line.

" In 2025, due to modernization work, work and closures are to be expected on metro line 6," warns the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens on its website. So, what can we expect? Will there be partial or total disruptions? In the evening or during the day? We tell you all about it.

Work resumed on the line on January 6. For more than a month, line 6 was completely closed from 10pm every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. These evening disruptions ended on February 12.

But new disruptions are on the cards. On April 12, 13 and May 18 2025, line 6 will be closed between Daumesnil and Nation stations. RATP is also announcing a partial closure of line 6, between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and Trocadéro stations, on April 26, 27 and May 25, 2025. Finally, traffic on metro line 6 will be completely interrupted, all day, on Sunday June 15, 2025.

This modernization work will enable the continued deployment of new-generation MP89 trains. " The adaptation of infrastructures to this new rolling stock and the modernization of installations will be completed by 2026, with the modification of rail signalling installations in the Nation and Charles de Gaulle-Étoile zones, and the on-line testing of the new train control system. These actions will contribute to improving passenger service ", explains RATP.
