La Grande Course du Grand Paris 2025: traffic and parking restrictions

Due to the organization of the 6th edition of the Grande Course du Grand Paris, this Sunday, March 30, 2025, the Préfecture de police de Paris has published an order temporarily modifying parking and traffic in several streets of the capital. This spring sees the return of many running events in Paris and elsewhere in the Île-de-France region. Following on from the Paris Semi, runners will be sweating it out at new events such as the Paris 10k, the Festi'Run and, of course, the Paris Marathon!

Just before the race, runners can warm up with the Grande Course du Grand Paris. This race, with its values of sport, ecology, solidarity and humanism, links the center of the capital with Greater Paris, with a finish at the legendary Stade de France!

But this great pedestrian event on March 30, 2025 is not without consequences for Parisian motorists. The Préfecture de police de Paris has issued a decree temporarily modifying parking and traffic on several streets in the capital on Saturday March 29 and Sunday March 30, 2025, notably in the 10th, 11th, 12th and 19th arrondissements. The aim? To ensure the smooth running of this sporting event and the safety of participants.

So, what are these restrictions? Which roads will be closed to traffic and parking? We tell you all about it.

In a decree published on March 20, the Préfecture de police de Paris announced that parking for all vehicles is prohibited in the 12th arrondissement on the route de la Ferme, between the route du Fort de Gravelle and the route de la Tourelle, from 2:00 pm on March 29, 2025 until 2:00 pm on March 30, 2025.

Further restrictions are to be expected this weekend, particularly in the 10th, 11th, 12th and 19th arrondissements. From March 29, 2025 at 10:00 pm to March 30, 2025 at 2:00 pm, all vehicles are prohibited from parking in the following streets and sections of streets in the 10th, 11th, 12th and 19th arrondissements of Paris:

  • allée Vivaldi, between no. 14 and rue Antoine-Julien Hénard ;
  • rue Antoine-Julien Hénard, between allée Vivaldi and rue Riesener ;
  • rue Riesener ;
  • rue Jacques Hillairet, between rue Riesener and place Sarah Monod ;
  • rue Godefroy Cavaignac ;
  • boulevard Voltaire, between place Léon Blum and boulevard Richard Lenoir;
  • boulevard Richard Lenoir, between boulevard Voltaire and boulevard Jules Ferry;
  • boulevard Jules Ferry, between avenue de la République and quai de Valmy ;
  • place de la République, chaussée nord, between avenue de la République and boulevard de Magenta;
  • rue du Faubourg du Temple, between place de la République and quai de Valmy ;
  • quai de Valmy ;
  • quai de la Seine ;
  • quai de l'Oise ;
  • quai de la Gironde ;
  • quai de la Charente.

Motor vehicle traffic will be prohibited on March 30, 2025 from 4:00 am to 3:30 pm in the following streets and sections of streets in the 10th, 11th and 12th districts of Paris, " which are part of the race route ":

  • route de la Ferme, between route du Fort de Gravelle and route de la Tourelle ;
  • route de la Tourelle ;
  • place de la République, chaussée nord, between avenue de la République and boulevard de Magenta;
  • rue du Faubourg du Temple, between place de la République and quai de Valmy.

On March 30, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., all motor vehicles will be banned from the following streets and sections of streets in the 10th, 11th, 12th and 19th arrondissements of Paris:

  • avenue des Tribunes, between route de la Tourelle and route de l'Asile National ;
  • route des Batteries, between route de l'Asile National and route Saint-Louis ;
  • route Saint-Louis, between route des Batteries and route de la Tourelle ;
  • route de la Tourelle between route Saint-Louis and avenue Anna Politkovskaïa ;
  • avenue Anna Politkovskaïa ;
  • chaussée de l'Etang ;
  • rue Edouard Lartet ;
  • René-Dumont green corridor cycle path ;
  • allée Vivaldi ;

As the decree states, " vehicles used to commit these offences may be immobilized and impounded ".
