The Lunar New Year, commonly known as Chinese New Year, takes place this year on January 29, 2025. We celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Wooden Snake, symbolizing vigor and vitality. For the occasion, Paris is taking part in the festivities: some districts are decked out in traditional decorations, restaurants are busy preparing special menus, and events are multiplying in the capital.
On the Comité Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a colorful parade awaits us this Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Asian traditions and folklore will take center stage, as lions, lanterns and dragons take over the Parisian streets in a whirlwind of shimmering colors. For the occasion, some thirty artists take over the Faubourg Saint-Honoré with their colourful characters and percussionists to give the parade even more rhythm.
The event will take place in the 8th arrondissement of Paris at 12:30 pm, at the corner of Faubourg Saint-Honoré and rue Royale. Between 12.30 and 2.30 pm, some 30 artists from the Paris Lion Sport group, dressed in dazzling costumes and masters of percussion, will lead this lively, festive procession. This exotic parade of mythical lions and dragons, symbols of nobility and good fortune, will wander to the sound of traditional rhythms for our greatest pleasure.
This free event, open to all, celebrates the Lunar New Year and Chinese New Year 2025 in style!
