During these Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in the heart of the Stade de France, a bell rings out every time an athlete wins. This bell will join Notre-Dame Cathedral at the end of the Paralympic Games!

Since the start of the events at the Stade de France, the sound of a bell has resounded in the mythical stadium, with each victory. A tradition started by Antoine Dupont and his rugby 7s colleagues at the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Made of bronze, it must be rung by the winner of an Olympic title. But this one is not like the others, as it will be joining the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral as soon as the Paralympic Games are over, and completing its restoration!

A way for the Olympic Games to participate in this reconstruction, with part of this exceptional event in the capital to remain forever in this emblematic monument, suspended in one of its towers, engraved with the Paris 2024 emblem. Made in Normandy, at the Cornille Havard Foundry in Villedieu-les-Poêles-Rouffigny, the bell will continue to ring for the athletics and para-athletics events until September.

The company also restoredNotre-Dame's bells, "made to last for several centuries, in the spirit of the cathedral builders", Paul Bergamo, director of the foundry, proudly told Le Parisien. All of which serves to highlight the two episodes that are set to mark the capital in 2024, with the cathedral's reopening scheduled for December. A fine symbol!
