This August 28, 2024, marks the start of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the long-awaited return match! Like its big sister, the opening ceremony will take place outside a stadium, on the Place de la Concorde, from 8pm. On the program: a parade of Paralympic athletes from the Champs-Elysées, an original show concocted by Thomas Jolly and plenty of surprises, with nearly 50,000 spectators expected!
Although you'll have to pay several hundred euros to get tickets inside the Concorde building, you can also try to take advantage of one of the 15,000 free seats available, as at the ceremony on the Seine, where the upper quays were accessible! But be warned, you'll need to get there early to qualify, as capacity is very limited and access will open at 5pm!
Two boxes are planned on either side of the avenue:
You'll be positioned at the bottom of the Champs-Elysées, and will receive bracelets of different colors depending on your location. If you can't see the show as it happens a few meters up, you'll be in the front row for the parade of para-athletes from 170 countries, and enjoy live coverage on 6 giant screens.
