Top start for wheelchair fencing at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games! And on this Tuesday, September 3, it's the sabre's turn to shine. The French are struggling to go far, being quickly eliminated... With the exception of Brianna Vide, who was in the repechage for bronze at the time, but made it through to the semi-finals and went for bronze. We were there and tell you all about it...

Armchair fencing at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, a real spectacle for the lucky ones who were able to get a ticket. On September 3, the festivities kicked off with sabre fencing, in which the French were in a frenzy, but were not always able to make the most of the opportunity. But among the athletes in the running was Brianna Vide who, despite her defeat, was drafted in to attempt to win the bronze medal.

She faced Georgia's Nino Tibilashvili, equally determined to win the bronze medal. The match began, and the Frenchwoman scored the first point, but conceded the second to the Georgian. Brianna quickly gained the upper hand, offering, with her opponent, some very nice touches, but was quickly caught by Nino Tibilishvili. With 2 minutes and 22 seconds left, the fencers are 5-5.

Then the Georgian dominated the match, but the Frenchwoman had not said her last word and gave us a remonstrance à la Maxime Valet, who had lost earlier in the evening, but was one point from victory after being behind. After some very nice touches from both players, the Frenchwoman finally lost with 11 points to 15, but did not lose out. A defeat at the Paralympic Games, of course, but the fervor of the public is worth all the victories...

All that remains is to follow the sword and saber.
