Édouard, hiding behind spectacular masks he creates to conceal his wounds, and Albert, his loyal accomplice, set up a daring scam to sell fictitious monuments to bereaved communes. As their scam expands, they must also contend with corrupt officer Pradelle (Laurent Lafitte), whose intentions are just as sordid as their own. The venture, as spectacular as it is risky, will soon plunge them into an adventure as dangerous as it is grandiose.

During the two hours ofAlbert Dupontel's sixth film, all we see are the blue eyes of Nahuel Perez Biscayart; this young Argentine actor, the new darling of French cinema, plays a trench survivor whose face has been half destroyed by the war that has just ended.
The film is remarkable for its aesthetic madness, with costumes, sets and lighting all carefully studied to build a world that matches the fantasy of the main character who, with another survivor, decides to pull off a gigantic scam. And in so doing, exact a little revenge for the war they suffered...
