Released in cinemas on September 12, 2018, Les Déguns is a French comedy directed by Cyrille Droux and Claude Zidi Jr. featuring the adventures of Nono and Karim, two youngsters from the suburbs of Marseilles with wild adventures. Adapted from the successful Youtube web series, the film follows the pair on an unlikely road-trip across France after their escape from a military reform camp. This wacky comedy is an opportunity to rediscover the unfiltered humor and irreverence that made the online series such a success, while discovering their adventures on the big screen.
Les Déguns is available on Netflix from October 30, 2024.
Synopsis: After 4 seasons of huge success on Youtube, Les Déguns are coming to the big screen. Nono and Karim, two real "déguns" from the Marseilles suburbs, find themselves locked up in a military correction camp following a burglary. Succeeding in escaping, they hit the roads of France to join Karim's girlfriend in Saint-Tropez. Their journey is filled with the most unlikely of encounters...
After being arrested for burglary, Karim (Karim Jebli) and Nono (Nordine Salhi), two youngsters from the suburbs of Marseille, find themselves in a military reform camp where discipline reigns supreme. Refusing to bow to the strict rules, they organize their escape. Their objective? To reach Karim's girlfriend Jennifer, who is in Saint-Tropez. This is the start of an eventful and improbable journey across France, where they encounter one zany encounter after another in absurd situations. Along the way, they meet a cast of colorful characters, and their journey becomes a veritable burlesque odyssey, with surprises at every stop.
Les Déguns is aimed above all at a young audience, familiar with the offbeat, unabashed humor of the web series, but will also entertain fans of light-hearted, wacky French comedies. This film is a direct extension of the Youtube series that has won over millions of viewers, with its irreverent style of humor and endearing characters despite their clumsiness. If you like comedies like Babysitting or Les Kaïra, you'll find here the same spirit of crazy road-trip and burlesque situations where the absurd rubs shoulders with situational comedy. Karim Jebli and Nordine Salhi brilliantly reprise their roles, bringing their energy and wry humor to every scene. Please note, however, that certain scenes or comments may offend viewers' sensibilities.
Available on Netflix from October 30, 2024, Les Déguns is a wacky comedy that promises a good dose of laughs with its infernal duo and totally improbable situations. Both a tribute to cult web series and an action comedy in its own right, the film is sure to please die-hard fans as well as those new to the world of Les Déguns. Perfect for an evening of no-holds-barred entertainment, this road-trip through France is a compendium of gags, surprises and zany encounters.
