After Dumbo, Aladdin, Mulan and The Little Mermaid (still in preparation) and many others, Disney Studios is tackling a new Live Action Classic! Peter Pan & Wendy is set to be released in the next few years. The film is scheduled for release on the Disney+ platform on April 28, 2023.
The cast of this adventure includes Alexander Molony, who already lent his voice to the character of Claude in the eponymous series on Disney Junior in 2018, in the role of Peter Pan, and Ever Anderson, who is noneother than the daughter of MillaJovovich and director Paul W. S. Anderson, has been chosen to play Wendy.
Disney has chosen to cast very young actors, barely out of childhood, to illustrate this period of transition when we are torn between the desire to be grown-up, independent and autonomous, but still need to be pampered, protected and cradled like a child, far from the worries of everyday life, and in particular the war raging in the London of James Matthew Barrie's original work.
But the big news of the moment is that Tinkerbell has finally found the right shoe! OK, I'm going to stop joking now - this isn't Cinderella! Anyway, it's the 20-year-old Yara Shahidi, seen in the Black-ish and Grown-ish series, who will play the jealous, mischievous fairy who secretly has a crush on the handsome Peter in Neverland.
As for the story's great villain, Captain Hook, he will be played by Jude Law. The film will be directed by David Lowery, whose credits include Peter and Elliott the Dragon and A Ghost Story.
