Get ready for a trip down memory lane! After the resounding success of Barbie, it's director Lena Dunham 's (Girls) turn to amaze us with the miniature world of Polly Pocket! The little figurines so dear to our hearts will come to life on the big screen, with a three-star cast still shrouded in mystery...
Just one piece of information, however - and perhaps the most crucial! Who will headline the movie? Lily Collins, known for her iconic role in the series "Emily in Paris", will play the 21st-century Polly Pocket. Already involved in the project as anactress and co-producer, Lily expressed her enthusiasm via an Instagram post in 2021, sharing her passion for the little doll: "When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Polly Pockets, it's a dream come true to be able to announce this project".
Even if the release date of the feature film remains unknown to date, the many nostalgic fans of the figurine can't wait to discover this new adaptation!
It seems that Mattel, the company behind these mythical toys, has found the magic formula to conquer cinema. Following the success of the Barbie movie, the American company intends to keep the momentum going. According to Vanity Fair, no less than "14 other films based on toys at different stages of development" are planned. Among them, a Hot Wheels movie, produced by the famous J.J. Abrams, is also on the cards.
Hold on to your hats, because a dose of miniature adventure awaits the big screen!
