From October 11 to 17, UGC and the City of Paris are launching a unique film festival designed to educate and raise awareness against discrimination.

Cinema has always been a powerful means of expression for conveying strong messages and bringing about social change. From October 11 to 17, UGC, in partnership with the City of Paris, unveils the first "Festival Paris Ciné contre les discri'!". An event whose mission is to light up the screens with committed cinematographic works.

The organizers of this festival share two major objectives. On the one hand, they want to promote cinematic culture to combat and raise awareness of discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism. On the other, they wish to create a space for exchange between the public and personalities committed to these issues.

Taking place in the UGC Ciné Cité Bercy and UGC Lyon Bastille cinemas, the event makes cinema more accessible, with a ticket price of €6. The program is rich and varied, including 14 films such as L'Abbé Pierre - Une vie de combats directed by Frédéric Tellier and Miss by Ruben Alves.

It's important to note that each screening will be enhanced by an exchange with one or more personalities from the institutional, associative or cultural worlds. This direct dialogue will enable viewers to deepen their understanding of the themes addressed in the films. In addition, two films will be previewed, marking the opening and closing of this first edition.

One of the strengths of this festival lies in its commitment to the youth of Paris. Special attention is paid to school audiences, with the aim of educating and raising awareness among the younger generation. This initiative is reinforced by the partnership with the Fédération Française des Clubs de l'Unesco (FFCU), which works in Ile-de-France through its "clubs" for citizen education and intercultural dialogue.

Program :

In conclusion, the Paris Ciné contre les discri'! Festival is more than just a film event. It's a platform for exchange, education and awareness-raising, uniting the power of cinema with the importance of the fight against discrimination. Thanks to this joint initiative by UGC and the City of Paris, the French capital continues to affirm its commitment to a more equitable and tolerant society.
