Magic invades Marvel and Disney+ once again... And Agatha Harkness has seemingly decided to play a trick on us with her series, unveiling a new title, Agatha the Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe, on May 14, 2024. A rather suspicious title that could only be hiding something else... and we were right to think so, since on May 15 Disney revealed the real title of the series. Forget"Coven of Chaos","Darkhold Diaries" and"House of Harkness", all these titles were subterfuges since, as the series title says,"Agatha was behind it all!". And as good news never comes alone, Agatha All Along (that's right, the official title) is about to bewitch you with two first episodes on Disney+ on September 18, 2024.
An intriguing sequel to WandaVision, the series puts the spotlight on the enigmatic witch Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, and promises to plunge fans into the mysteries surrounding the witch, whose origins and powers remain an inexhaustible source of curiosity for fans.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries explores the character ofAgatha Harkness, previously introduced in WandaVision. The plot should oscillate between reminiscences of her past and the consequences of her epic confrontation with Wanda Maximoff, aka the Red Witch. The series could also draw on the rich traditions of Marvel comics, where Agatha plays a crucial role in Wanda's evolution and interacts with other iconic figures from this universe. It will feature many of the witches (and wizards?) who make up her coven.
In addition to Kathryn Hahn(Brooklyn Nine-Nine, WandaVision), the cast includes Patti LuPone (American Horror Story: NYC, Beau is Afraid...), Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Recreations, The White Lotus...), Joe Locke(Heartstopper), Sasheer Zamata(The Mitchells vs. the Machines, Tuca and Bertie....), Ali Ahn (Orange is the New Black, How to raise a superhero...), Maria Dizzia (Fringe, 13 Reasons Why...), Paul Adelstein (Prison Break, Private Practice...), Miles Gutierrez-Riley(Smile 2), Okwui Okpokwasili and Debra Jo Rupp (That's 70's Show, WandaVision...). The series is also directed by Jac Schaeffer, the screenwriter behind WandaVision. With its skilful blend of mystery and magic, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries promises many hours in front of the screen on Disney+!
