The Whoniverse is on fire... For the first time in the history of the famous British series, Disney Branded Television and the BBC are teaming up to launch the new season of Doctor Who on Disney+! The all-new season is due to arrive on May 11, 2024, following the special episode Doctor Who: The Church of Ruby Road. Two never-before-seen episodes will be broadcast at launch, followed by a weekly release.
This season introduces Ncuti Gatwa in the iconic role of the Doctor, accompanied by Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. Together, they travel through time and space, from Regency England to futuristic wars, fighting tirelessly for good. Fans can look forward to encounters with new allies and enemies more formidable than ever. Led by showrunner Russell T. Davies, this season promises"monsters, chases, villains, mystery", as well as a"terrifying secret that has endured for decades". A call to adventure that guarantees its share of suspense and emotion.
The cast of this new season also lives up to expectations, with the first appearance ofIndira Varma as the Duchess and Callie Cooke. They join a three-star cast including Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney and Jinx Mansoon. Produced by Bad Wolf in partnership with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and the BBC, this season benefits from the collaboration of executive producers Phil Collinson and Jane Tranter, and renowned directors Ben Chessell and Julie Anne Robinson.
