The 2024 Oscars have just announced their prize list, rewarding Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer with no fewer than 7 awards - including the prestigious statuettes for Best Picture and Best Director. Our very own Justine Triet's Anatomy of a Fall took home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, cocorico!
Unlike the films presented at the Cannes Film Festival , most of which won't be released in cinemas for some time yet, most of the Oscar-winning films have already been released in cinemas (or now on platforms!). This makes it easy to catch up on any films you may have missed before the awards.
As proof of this, the vast majority of the films that won awards at the 2024 Oscars can still be seen in cinemas or at home, with the exception ofTakashi Yamazaki's Godzilla Minus One , Oscar winner for Best Visual Effects, which is currently no longer in theatres, and the short film War Is Over! Inspired by the Music of John and Yoko by Dave Mullins, Oscar winner for Best Animated Short, which is not distributed in France, nor is it available online.
