Do you like escape games? Or anything involving virtual reality? At The Escape Lab, we're combining the two with Mission Eclipse VR, a room that will transport you into space, aboard the spaceship Eclipse 2. The pitch? You search for the crew of another ship abandoned near a star about to engulf you, and have 30 minutes to find out what happened and return to Earth.
Equipped with a helmet, a computer on your back, sensors and joysticks, you enter your ship, then head for the other ship to search for the missing team. It's a totally immersive experience, since the room, although empty, includes vibrating zones for a more real feel. An escape game created by Virtual Adventure, in collaboration with studio Blacklight, for one of today's most innovative experiences.
It's an experience that the editors have tried out and thoroughly enjoyed. Apart from a few minor bugs (on the legs, for example, but these are minor), immersion is total and the experience pushes the boundaries between reality and virtual reality a little further. The mission seems straightforward enough at first glance, but the puzzles aren't always obvious, and sometimes you'll have to rack your brains to find the solution. In terms of graphics, the environments are very beautiful, from the ships to the unobstructed view of the sun you can get at one point in the game.
