Paris 2024 Olympics: Patrick Bruel to carry the flame in Versailles - 78

Numerous celebrities have been approached to become Olympic torchbearers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In Ile-de-France, there will be no fewer than 23, including singer Patrick Bruel, who will be seen strolling the streets of Versailles this Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Le Parisien informs us.

With just a few days to go before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the names of the torchbearers continue to be revealed. " It was Valérie Pécresse (President of the Regional Council) who phoned to ask me if I wanted to take part in this wonderful human adventure. I accepted, and I'm delighted, " Patrick Bruel told the newspaper. The route will start at the Château de Versailles, before crossing the royal town of Yvelines.

Patrick Bruel said he was honored to take part in this symbolic event. " For me, Olympism brings together the important values of sharing, living together, openness, exchange and fraternity. We're going through a period when we most need to be together, to come together, to move forward hand in hand, " he declared. He's not afraid of the 200-metre course, since he covers a lot of ground on stage during his tours.

Among the other relayers selected are personalities such as former tennis player Arnaud Clément, ex-director of the Miss France committee Sylvie Tellier, and Charles Coste, the doyen of Olympic champions, who turned 100 this year.
