Fans have been waiting for it with great anticipation... On May 30, 2024, PlayStation unveiled a trailer for the PC version of God of War Ragnarok. Join us on September 19, 2024, on PC, to discover the latest adventures of Kratos and his son Atreus.
The story of this opus picks up more or less where the game left off, with the discovery of Atreus' true identity. In this opus, Atreus goes in search of his own history, in the company of his father, who is increasingly worried about his son, and must decide whether he will be"chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes" or whether hewill "free himselffrom his past to be the father Atreus needs".
"The Fimbulvetr is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must travel to each of the nine realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied world-ending battle. Along the way, they'll explore breathtaking mythical landscapes and face fearsome foes in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the kingdoms".
Our opinion on God of War Ragnarok :
God of War: Ragnarok is probably THE game of the year. Anticipated by all PlayStation console owners, this is a real jewel to be placed in everyone's hands. And for several reasons...
Graphically speaking, it's a no-brainer! The images are breathtakingly fluid, and should delight PS5 owners who expect more games worthy of the nex-gen console. The fluidity of the image is truly appreciated, making the game a pleasure to play.
We also appreciate, still graphically speaking, the detail of facial expressions, making the actors' performances even more intense and breathtaking. A game that has everything to seduce, with a captivating expressiveness that lives up to expectations.
As for the story, without going into too much detail and without spoilers, it's on a par with the last opus released in 2017, in continuity even... Very well written and very well acted, we really enjoy plunging into the story of Ragnarok and discovering the various intertwined plots for a fitting finale.
The gameplay is similar to that of the previous opus, with the addition of the possibility of controlling Atreus on several occasions. And, as in the first game, you can juggle your own skills with those of Kratos to defeat enemies. This combination allows for some interesting strategic offensives, as well as more advanced puzzle-solving.
To sum up, God of War: Ragnarok is a beautiful game, much deeper and more polished than its predecessor, even if, to be fair, we would have liked to see a little more diversity in the gameplay (but that's really to be fair...). A must-have for all PS4 and PS5 owners. So, friends, are you ready for Ragnarok?
