Calling all adventurous fans of Père Fouras! Otium Leisure invites fans of the France 2 TV show to immerse themselves in the heart of the game's universe at a brand new Action Game. Entitled Fort Boyard Aventures, it is located in Bretigny, in theEssonne region of France. More precisely, it's right next to Speed Park, just 30 minutes from Paris. This life-size indoor game is the result of a collaboration with the show's producers. It will open its doors for its first sessions on December 1, 2022. The principle? Carry out tests and win the jackpot, just like on TV.
TheAction Game, created in 2022, has a total surface area of 800 m2. It immerses players in the world of the real fort, with keys and clues to be recovered in each cell. A total of three cell sizes are available, each hiding a different challenge. There are 30 of them, including the show's iconic cells, as well as the Council and Treasury rooms.
As in the France 2 show, the player or players taking part in Fort Boyard Aventures (depending on the cell) must win the challenge while the rest of the team cheers them on, this time inside the cell. The aim is to reach the treasure room and collect as many Boyards as possible in the shortest possible time.
The adventure is for groups of 2 to 4 players, aged 7 and over. Fort Boyard Aventures also offers an event space for up to 200 people? It's ideal for corporate seminars, team building or Christmas trees. For precision, you're also free to create your own course, focusing on strength, skill, balance or reflection? In short, choose the events that best suit you.
And if you book a session on Wednesday December 7, you'll have the chance to meet the show's host, Olivier Minne. Also taking part are André Bouchet, aka Passe-Partout, and Anthony Laborde, aka Passe-Muraille. An opportunity to chat with them about the show and take a few photos in this action game as seen on TV.
Our test of Fort Boyard Aventures :
An experience that the editors were able to preview during a trip to Essonne. And we're not going to lie, we were particularly taken with the concept! Accessible to families, Fort Boyard Aventures is very similar to the TV show, albeit with a few modifications.
Starting with the course of events: you're equipped with a connected bracelet, and have to wander from room to room. To do this, you need to activate the bracelet to open the various doors and begin the test. Otherwise, it's just like on TV!
Step 1: Collect keys and clues
The bracelet allows you to retrieve keys and clues, and thus gain access to the Treasure Room. There are no physical keys or clues here, everything is digital. To retrieve a key or clue, simply press a large red button, symbolizing your success. You then proceed to the screen inside the room to swipe your bracelet and tally your victory. It's an ingenious way to win the event.
As for the Fort Boyard Aventures events, you can access them in any order you like. You can also choose the ones you want. But be warned: if you don't succeed in obtaining the keys, you may have to try again to get the clues. And with good reason: the cells are the same for both game phases.
TheAction Game has a total of 30 cells of varying degrees of difficulty. Some of them require a little more strength, skill or reflection. The cells are also smaller than in the show, with the whole team entering to encourage the participant. And to avoid frustration, there's no jail: once the time is up, you can either retry the test or move on to the next one... But remember: time is of the essence!
Fort Boyard Aventures and its host of challenges...
The Jungle, the Cylinders, the Museum, the Vigie, the Temple Maya, the Ketchuperie... all mythical cells, suitable for everyone. The more physical challenges (the Jungle, the Museum...) are particularly tough. They require a minimum of arm strength to succeed. As for the others, they are fairly accessible, but still require a certain amount of skill. In all, just over ten cells are accessible to PRMs, making the game experience truly accessible to all.
Stage 2: The Council Chamber and the Treasure Room
Once you've obtained your keys and clues, it's off to the Council Chamber to take on the masters of time. A total of two tests await you, all to be completed on a digital table. And for the Treasure Room, the same principle applies: the clues you've collected are revealed to you, then you have to think and find the right code word. If you get it right, you'll be showered with Boyards! Coins also fall virtually, with a digital table on which you must interact to fill a gauge.
Once the gauge is full, you press a button to simulate filling the cauldron. A really well-realized game, in keeping with the show and the reality of the setting.
So many simple things that make Fort Boyard Aventures a solid, well-realized experience... A must-see!
In addition to the Essonne site, Fort Boyard Aventures is due to open a second location in Velizy 2 in 2023... No more excuses not to go! So, friends, are you ready to pocket the jackpot?
