A game that will awaken the ghost hunter in you! Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, developed and published by IIIFonic, will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series from October 18, 2022. Like Dead by Daylight, this opus features very specific gameplay, with you taking on the role of either one of four ghost hunters tracking down a spirit, or the ghost itself, trying to wreak havoc in a play area. A duel at the summit not to be missed!
What exactly does it involve? Equipped with a proton pack, a psychotensiometer and a ghost trap, you complete the proposed missions by wandering around buildings in search of ghosts. And just as in Dead by Daylight, where you play either one of the four heroes or the killer, you can control either a ghostbuster or a ghost, for 4 vs. 1 matches.
Each has its own special abilities: ghost hunters will be able to use their psychotensiometers to spot ghosts, then their proton packs and traps to capture ectoplasm. The latter also have the ability to reassure surrounding NPCs, and avoid panic. As for ghosts, they can possess objects, frighten NPCs and, in some cases, even walk through walls. The aim: to make the space uninhabitable for ordinary mortals!
And alongside that, a story in which you'll meet a variety of characters, including Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore.

So, what do we think of this new Ghostbusters opus? Well, on the whole, it's a pretty good success. In terms of graphics, the choice was made to make thingscartoony, and it works! Graphically pretty, the title uses this subterfuge to be accessible to the greatest number, neither frightening nor ridiculous. What's more, it's a pleasure to play, visually speaking... What more could you ask for!
As for the gameplay, it's a real pleasure to play both the hunter and the ghost parts. Each has its own particularity, and each gameplay is sufficiently advanced - while remaining relatively simple - to avoid boredom. The particularly fast-paced gameplay is a great help in this respect, giving the game a really interesting dynamic. Note that you can customize both your hunter and your ghost, and although the choice of customization is relatively limited, gaining experience allows you to unlock new accessories, hair colors and other outfits.
It's also worth noting that all the ghost hunter's equipment can be upgraded, making the game a little more complex (but only a little). In short, it's addictive and the immersion in the experience is 200%! The story may not be particularly useful, but Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed stands on its own in its asymmetrical multiplayer version, and that's not bad. A fine piece of software to get your hands on!
