On June 12, Square Enix unveiled a new trailer and release date for Visions of Mana, part of the"Mana" saga whose first episode, Mystic Quest, released in 1993, was actually a spin-off from... Final Fantasy! Visions of Mana, the franchise's first main title in fifteen years, is scheduled for release on August 29, 2024 on PC via Steam, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series.
Visions of Mana plunges us into a rich and enchanting universe, where Val, the protagonist and guardian of souls, embarks on an epic quest to protect his childhood friend, designated as a fire offering by the fairy. Their journey will take them to theMana Tree, a vital symbol of the renewal of mana flow. This odyssey promises to be a true celebration of the series' roots, while introducing some captivating new features.
Players will marvel at breathtaking environments, face a multitude of iconic enemies and monsters, such as lapyns, and interact with natural forces and elemental spirits. The game promises a fresh experience with real-time 3D combat, designed to delight long-time fans and newcomers alike.
Since Mystic Quest in 1993, the Mana series has captivated gamers with its sumptuous worlds, engaging characters and fantasy storytelling. Visions of Mana continues this tradition with creature designs by Airi Yoshioka and an enchanting soundtrack by Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito and Ryo Yamazaki.
