Here's one we didn't see coming... At the latest PlayStation State of Play, a conference held on the night of September 24-25, 2024, PlayStation unveiled a first trailer for the "sequel" to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei, even granting itself a release window on PS5, for 2025. This new epic takes us to the island of Hokkaido, around Mount Yōtei, alongside a new heroine, Atsu, and her faithful wolf.
In this sequel, Ghost of Yōtei moves away from the character of Jin Sakai to plunge us into a new era of Japanese history. Sucker Punch, the studio behind the game, unveiled some images at State of Play, with cinematics highlighting the beauty of Hokkaido's landscapes, its dense forests and snowy plains. According to the studio, this new opus will retain the DNA of Ghost of Tsushima, while breaking new ground: " We also wanted to keep innovating. To create something fresh yet familiar," explained the team in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
In the trailer, a man declares: " People come north to disappear ", before being eliminated by our heroine, the wandering samurai. This new universe, which moves away from the organized samurai clans of Tsushima, should be full of betrayal and mystery. We can't wait!
