Launched in October, Pokémon TCG Pocket lets fans collect cards, create decks and compete in strategic duels. And among the most sought-after cards, Mew is the ultimate reward for collectors. Impossible to find in a simple booster or classic mission, this card requires players to make a considerable effort to obtain it. The challenges it represents make it a real quest, attracting the attention of even the most motivated trainers. How do you get it? We tell you all about it!
To obtain the Mew card, you need to complete the Pokédex for the Kanto region... It's that simple! This means collecting all 150 unique cards from the first generation, from Bulbizarre to Mewtwo, without exception. Once you've collected all 150 cards, head for the"Missions" section, then the"Thematic Collections" tab, and validate the"Complete the Kanto Pokédex" mission. After a special animation, the Mew card is yours!
This process, though complex, remains accessible to the most patient, since it is not necessary to collect every variant or rare card: a classic or alternative version is enough to meet the criteria. Some cards, however, notably those from specific events, do not count towards this progression.
Collecting all 150 Kanto cards can take several years of daily play, unless you have a substantial budget. Fortunately, external tools allow you to track your progress and identify missing cards. Another tip for collecting all 150 Kanto cards more quickly: first keep an eye on the cards you're missing and, in the Pokédex, mark them with a heart for a better chance of them appearing in the Miracle Picks.
If you have opted for the Premium Pass, take advantage of the welcome gift. During the 14-day trial period, you'll receive one bonus pack per day. You'll be able to add to your Pokédex more quickly, and maybe even stumble across a missing card. And if not, save your Booster Points to the maximum, so you can use them to buy the missing cards. You can also wait for the arrival of exchanges, scheduled for early 2025. Note that the Mew card is only available in one copy, and is not very useful in combat, as its attack is not very high. A real nod to the early days of the Pokémon series.
So, have you already got Mew's card in Pokémon TCG Pocket?
