Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche takes part in LVMH’s Les Journées Particulières 2022 in Paris, for two exceptional nights, on October 14 and 15, 2022. Created in 1852, by Aristide and Marguerite Boucicaut, Le Bon Marché is the world’s first department store. The founding couple revolutionized business with new and innovating sales methods, whilst improving employees’ life and work conditions. From this moment on, clients and customers enjoyed bespoke reception and help from the most performing sellers. They can now try, purchase on credit, or even get reimbursed if they wish. Entrepreneur and visionary, the Boucicauts continuously provide new services such as home delivery or mail order selling thanks to the release of their first catalog in 1860’s.
Designed by architect Louis-Charles Boileau and engineer Gustave Eiffel, the building is still as glorious, uplifted by the large Art Déco glass-roof bathing the department store in sunlight. As it was before, the place mixes discovery and amazement, in an atmosphere likely for creation and emotion. More than a shopping experience, a genuine lifestyle!
LVMH’s Les Journées Particulières 2022 program at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche:
Visitors are invited to enjoy a unique experience during Les Journées Particulières as part of the celebrations for Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche’s 170th anniversary. The immersive play Le Bonheur des Dames, inspired by Emile Zola’s writings, is a first within a department store and will be performed after the store has closed for the day.
