Castalia, the Maurepas aquatic and aqualudic center

Castalia is the name of the new aquatic center in Maurepas. More than just a swimming pool, this aqualudic center boasts no less than 5 state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly pools, a digital waterslide area, a playground, an open-air jacuzzi with sauna and a gigantic fitness area. We've tested it all, and here's the lowdown.

Closed for several years due to dilapidation, the Maurepas aquatic center has been reborn in a much-improved version. As of September 8, 2022, a new"aqualudic" center opens its doors. The towns ofÉlancourt and Maurepas have joined forces to create Castalia in place of the old swimming pool. A state-of-the-art aquatic center now awaits us.

Just a stone's throw from the Maurepas national forest in the Yvelines(78), in a verdant setting with preserved oak trees, beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces where greenery is the order of the day. Castalia now offers swimming, relaxation and sports facilities for all ages.

In this age of energy and environmental concerns, Castalia has been designed with the environment and the economy in mind. As aquatic spaces are energy-intensive, the center has been designed to limit environmental impact. Castalia is equipped with heat pumps, glass bead and diatom filters, condensing gas boilers and solar carpeting. It also uses 20% renewable energy, and the water in the pools is reused 3 times before being discharged.

No fewer than 5 basins are on the menu for your discoveries:

A 25 m-long sports pool with 8 lanes, 2 to 4 m deep, and seating for 150 people. The pool will be used for learning, swimming, diving, swimming and water sports.

The second multi-purpose pool is dedicated to swimming, relaxation and learning. With a surface area of 200 m² and a depth of 80 cm to 1.25 m, it featuresa river with water jets.

Opposite it, a small pool for the very young is also revealed.

Anactivity pool is also on the menu. Measuring 80 m² with a depth of 1.25 m, it will be dedicated to water sports, Zen activities, baby swimmers and specialized groups.

Theaqualounge pool offers an innovative, warm and calm concept for relaxation. Imagine a 50 m² space with water at 34°C (all other pools are between 28 and 29°C).

The final 25m outdoor Nordic pool features a snack area called"Sur le pouce" and a three-lane pentaglide.

These pools are enhanced by play areas with water jets, a digital slide and a playground (closed for the inauguration, but you can still see it). The waterslide features 3 moods and 3 games to choose from as you slide down. Ocean, jungle or illusion, it's up to you to choose and then tap the lights that light up on the way down to try and get the best score.

The aqualudic center also features a wellness area with three saunas, a hammam, an outdoor jaccuzzi and three "experience" showers, not forgetting the "tisanerie" relaxation area with its relaxing pool.

Sports enthusiasts will also be delighted with no less than 600 m2 of space for weight training, yoga and group classes. There's a cardio platform, three classrooms and a coaching area. Fans of fitness will be able to work out in thefitness area, with its beautiful rooms and numerous state-of-the-art machines.

Numerous monthly subscriptions are available, ranging from €25 to €60 per month, depending on the options chosen. Unlimited access to the wellness area costs €25 per month. For the day, prices vary from 5€ to 6.50€ for children, depending on whether or not they live in the communes of Élancourt or Maurepas, and from 6€ to 7.80€ for adults with the same criteria. Freedom packages are available at 24€ for access to all areas, or 36€ with access to all classes.

The aquatic center is open to us from 9am to 9pm all year round, with opening times from 7am three times a week and two weekly late nights until 10pm. At weekends, the pool is open from 9am to 6pm. Numerous weekly aquasports and fitness sessions are also available, not forgetting slots reserved for school groups.
