The European Football Championship may be just under two years away, but preparations are already well underway. On Sunday October 9, the groups for the qualifiers were drawn. The French team has been drawn in Group B, along with the Netherlands, their biggest rivals in this group, as well as Gibraltar, Greece and Ireland. Nothing can be taken for granted, but Les Bleus could have been in a trickier position.

Indeed, Group C, which includes Italy, England, Ukraine, Malta and Northern Macedonia, appears to be the group with the most big-name teams. The qualifying matches will take place between March and November 2023. Speaking to L'Équipe, France coach Didier Deschamps commented: "It's a good group. A draw can always be better, it can be worse, we'll have to win and be better than our opponents, as usual."
As a reminder, the top two teams in each group qualify directly for the Euro, which will take place from June 14 to July 14, 2024, in Germany. Only the team from the host country automatically qualifies.
