Paris-Saint-Germain have reached the last 16 of the Champions League once again! After much uncertainty, the Parisian club finished second in their group, and thus drew one of Europe's finest opponents. For once, PSG didn't get the worst draw, and find themselves playing Real Sociedad. After a Valentine's Day victory at the Parc des Princes, the Parisians travel to the Basque country for the return leg on March 5, 2024.
Although the Parisians' opponents will not be the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich or Manchester City, the Basque club should not be underestimated, as they have overtaken Inter Milan in their group and are well placed in their league. In fact, this is the first time that Paris-Saint-Germain have met this team! It's hard to take anything from the first leg, with a very complicated and worrying first half, largely offset by a successful second half.
We must not rest on our laurels and try to score as many goals as possible against the Spanish club, in order to quickly secure a place in the quarter-finals, without the fans panicking until the last second, as regularly happens in the Champions League for Paris-Saint-Germain. Indeed, this is Kylian Mbappé 's last chance to win it with the Parisians, as he has finally announced his departure for Real Madrid!
