The Coupe de France is an opportunity to witness a different kind of soccer, as Ligue 1 clubs meet Ligue 2 or National clubs, for matches that are often surprising. It's not uncommon to see"little clubs" take out the big boys in the competition, much to their delight. Against Paris-Saint-Germain, this wasn't really the case, as the Parisian club beat FC Espaly and Le Mans, although the latter put up a particularly good fight. In the quarter-finals, the Parisians will meet Stade Briochin.
On paper, it doesn't look good for the players from Saint-Brieuc, of course, but you never know, they've made it this far. They'll be on Breton soil, at Roazhon Park, the Stade Rennais stadium, encouraged by their fans, who have gathered in large numbers for the occasion. The minnows will face the Ligue 1 leaders, still unbeaten in the league, on February 26, 2025, a match to be followed on France 3 and BeIN Sports or in your Parisian bars, from 9.10pm.
As a reminder, PSG have won the Coupe de France 15 times since the start of their history, holding the title and currently boasting the most victories in the competition. They are also the French club to have won the most domestic cups, with 9 League Cups!
