Remember, in November 2017, at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, Gérard Depardieu paid a vibrant tribute to Barbara with the concert event"Depardieu sings Barbara" alongside pianist Gérard Daguerre. Faced with the success, Gérard Depardieu and Gérard Daguerre had decided to get together again to invade the Cirque d'Hiver from November 7 to 15, 2018.
In the spring of 2023, the pianist and the singer are back at it with a new performance not to be missed on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the Salle Gaveau.
This new series of concerts follows the release of an album recorded in Précy-sur-Marne, at Barbara's home. It is here that the mythical actor and the great pianist - also conductor and arranger - met for the recording of fourteen songs created by the lady in black.
But how was this project born, you may ask? Gérard Daguerre, who wished " to continue the path traced by Barbara, to continue the adventure ", recorded an instrumental opus that he made Depardieu listen to.
Depardieu, who had always been a fan of the singer, wanted to perform two songs:"Nantes" and"A force de..." written by his son Guillaume for Barbara. But in the end, what was initially intended to be a trial was finally transformed into an album.
Remember that Gérard Depardieu had already interpreted, alongside the great singer Barbara, the musical"Lily Passion". It was in 1986 on the stage of the Zenith.
