Since its opening in 1984, theAccor Arena, formerly known as the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, has established itself as a stage not to be missed. Located in the 12th arrondissement, the venue has been the stage for performances by both national and international artists of renown. Through a series of renovations, notably in 2015, it has been able to modernize and maintain its status as one of the capital's most sought-after venues.
The history of theAccor Arena is inseparable from the cultural and musical evolution of Paris. The venue, designed by architects Michel Andrault and Pierre Parat, was built on land belonging to the fiefdom of La Râpée. With a capacity of 20,300 spectators today, compared with 17,000 previously, it is rapidly becoming a preferred venue for large-scale events.
February 3, 1984 marked the official inauguration of what was then the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy (POPB) by the then Mayor of Paris, Jacques Chirac. The venue soon gained an international reputation, hosting major sporting events such as the Paris-Bercy tennis tournament, as well as memorable concerts.
In the 90s, legendary French artists such as Johnny Hallyday, Mylène Farmer and Jean-Michel Jarre took to the stage, cementing theAccor Arena 's role as one of France's leading music venues. These performances attract huge crowds and confirm Bercy's status as a must-see stop on national tours.
In addition to French talent, theAccor Arena also welcomed a host of international stars. Bands and artists such as the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Metallica, Björk, Bruce Springsteen and U2 have set its stage ablaze, each contributing to the venue's global aura. The performances of these icons have often been highlights of their careers, forever marking the hearts of French fans.
The turn of the millennium saw the Accor Arena evolve with the times. In 2015, the venue temporarily closed its doors for a major renovation. This modernization effort, which cost around 135 million euros, expanded its offering and enhanced the spectator experience.
Today, theAccor Arena is a multi-purpose complex that continues to attract the biggest names in music and entertainment. Every year, over a hundred events take place under its roof, ranging from sporting competitions to concerts, family shows and comedy acts.
In short, theAccor Arena is much more than a concert hall: it's a living piece of Paris's cultural history. Each event adds another layer to its rich heritage. With a program that ranges from emerging artists to living legends, the Accor Arena continues to shine as a beacon in the cultural landscape not only of France, but of the world.

To get to theArena Bercy this summer, we recommend stopping at the"Gare de Lyon" station, accessible by RER A, RER D, Transilien line R or metro line 1. From there, it's a 1.1 km walk to the site. Alternatively, you can take lines 6 or 14 of the Paris metro and get off at"Bercy" station. The site entrance is located right next to the metro exit. However, we recommend that you use the"Gare de Lyon" stop to get to the competition venue during the Games.
