Johnny Hallyday fans can smile! After a stopover at the Palais des expositions in Brussels, thetraveling exhibition dedicated to Johnny Hallyday arrives in Paris from December 22, 2023 to June 19, 2024. Announced by Læticia Hallyday and the exhibition production agency Tempora, the event entitled"Johnny Hallyday l'Exposition" will take up residence in Pavillon 2.1 of the Parc des expositions at Porte de Versailles.
So, what can you expect when you open the doors to "Johnny Hallyday L'Exposition"? Over an area of almost 3,000 m², visitors are immersed in the impressive life and career of Johnny Hallyday.
We are first ushered into a first room, where black-and-white images are projected. Then, a curtain rises, revealing a long corridor and bringing us at last to the heart of the long-awaited exhibition. Inside, we discover numerous pieces from the rocker's collection, including his must-have stage costumes (nearly 50 of them) and 25 of his sublime guitars, displayed in a monumental scenography, as well as his jewelry, including skull rings and the famous Harry Winston white gold and diamond pendant, considered one of the most intimate pieces in the collection.
His Cobra sports car, the last car Johnny Hallyday bought in the USA, is also on display, as are his last three Harley-Davidsons, the motorcycles so dear to the singer, not to mention photos, multiple awards (Victoires de la musique, NRJ Music Awards...), gold and diamond discs and unique personal items never before unveiled to the public. His driver's licenses, identity papers and other cards, such as his UGC season ticket, are displayed in fly-cases bearing the singer's effigy.
For total immersion, visitors stroll through a space imagined in the shape of a giant guitar, featuring an evocation of Johnny Hallyday's teenage bedroom and a scenographic installation inspired by the Europe 1 studio where the"Salut les Copains" TV show was recorded in the 1960s. But the room that will undoubtedly delight fans of the singer is at the end of the exhibition, with this identical reconstruction of the Marnes-la-Coquette office, where we discover - behind glass - personal photos, books, a guitar, scarves...
Another highlight of the exhibition? The broadcast of a mini Johnny Hallyday show-concert, a truly immersive 360° audiovisual spectacle, where visitors can sit on a few Fly-cases and enjoy the moment. The film is set in the central space of the exhibition, and uses the same codes as the concert. A total of seven Johnny Hallyday songs on the theme of love (love of women, love of humanity, love of friends...) have been selected for the occasion.
And"Johnny Hallyday L'Exposition" also takes fans back to Johnny's America, with the outfits he wore there. Visitors can also visit the Villa Lorada in Ramatuelle - one of the artist's many residences - to admire some of his decorative objects.
In the end, visitors are taken on a journey through several major chapters in the artist's life: his childhood, the public, music, stardom with backstages, solitude, the USA, not forgetting cinema, Johnny Hallyday's other passion. The exhibition ends with images of the popular tribute paid to the singer in Paris on December 9, 2017.
More than just an exhibition, this event is a truly multi-sensory, immersive experience in which Johnny Hallyday 's life and career are punctuated by musical, stage and personal memories recounted through an audioguide where the voice of Jean Reno, the actor and friend of the rocker, accompanies us throughout our visit.
Designed for Johnny Hallyday fans, the exhibition is also open to curious visitors, children, fashion enthusiasts and bikers, who will learn more about the artist and the man. "Johnny Hallyday L'Exposition" looks set to be a not-to-be-missed event in Paris over the next few months, and is sure to arouse strong emotions in visitors. However, you'll have to pay 24.50 euros (standard rate) to get in.
