“Music should be stripped of all kind of scientific apparatus. Music should humbly seek to please; within these limits great beauty may perhaps be found. Extreme complication is contrary to art.” once composer Claude Debussy (1892-1918) wrote. The extreme simplicity and intelligibleness of his music show this opinion.
After a summer listening to the hit tracks of the year and an early September running around, we would love to treat ourselves to a moment of sweetness on this Thursday October 18 in the Petit Auditorium of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, site François Mitterand. The latter offers to give pride of place to unique music creations from its collections.
Next meeting? Debussy, l’écho d’une guerre. It’s the title Trio Antara chose to set the tone of this concert. On the menu: Debussy’s Sonata for flute, viola and harp.

The whole is accompanied with lectures by actress Dominique Frot including abstracts from Debussy’s letters and abstracts from Eric Vuillard’s La Bataille d’Occident.
