" Ivry: Se souvenir d'Antonin Artaud " is the name of the exceptional evening that the Centre Pompidou is offering you to experience with Patti Smith and Stephan Crasneanscki. The inescapable American poet, singer and writer and the founding artist of the Soundwalk Collective announce their return to the mythical Parisian museum, only a few months after their memorable concert last fall.
On Saturday, March 4, 2023, in the Grande Salle of the Centre Pompidou, Patti Smith and Stephan Crasneanscki - surrounded for the occasion byAleph Molinari - will offer a new live performance imagined this time around the work ofAntonin Artaud.
March 4th will be the anniversary of the French poet's death. Through readings of letters by Antonin Artaud, poems by the American artist, and discussions about the making of their album"The Peyote Dance", Patti Smith and Stephan Crasneanscki will lift the veil on the secrets of the creative process of their exhibition"Evidence". The audience will then be immersed in a spellbinding journey that will take them on a journey in the footsteps of the famous French poet, who died on March 4, 1948 in Ivry-sur-Seine.
This exclusive performance by Patti Smith and Stephan Crasneanscki, bookable now, will also be the occasion for the two artists to close in beauty their fascinating installation, entitled"Evidence". Presented until March 6, 2023, this exhibition immerses visitors in a quest that is both poetic and immersive.
