The Lorient Interceltic Festival, considered to be the world's largest Celtic gathering, came to a close on August 13, after 10 days of festivities dedicated to Celtic music.
With Ireland as this year's guest of honor, the Lorient Inter-Celtic Festival attracted over 900,000 visitors and featured over 300 concerts in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The Bagad de Lorient, Brieg Guerveno, the Celkilt group, Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, I Muvrini, the Interceltic Scottish Pipe Band, Sian and Suzanne Vega were just some of the performers at this 52nd edition. For those who can't make it, there's good news: France 3 is broadcasting the now famous Grand Spectacle du Festival interceltique de Lorient this Friday, August 18, 2023 from 9:10pm.
Directed by Julien Faustino and presented by Cyril Féraud, this " musical and spectacular " evening invites viewers to plunge into a unique atmosphere featuring the best of Celtic traditions. On the program? Live performances interspersed with behind-the-scenes meetings with the participants, and punctuated by anecdotes and confidences from the musicians.
For those less familiar with the event, the Lorient Interceltic Festival's Grand Spectacle takes place every summer at the Stade du Moustoir, bringing together some 500 artists and musicians from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Galicia, Asturias and, of course, Brittany! It's an opportunity to experience an incredible immersion in Celtic culture through unique performances.
Join us on France 3 this Friday, August 18 at 9:10pm for the Grand Spectacle of the 52nd Lorient Interceltic Festival!
