She directed the Centre Chorégraphique National de Caen en Normandie for sixteen years, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and now shapes her vision through KASA - Maisons Karine Saporta. Her innovative artistic approach is deeply influenced by the worlds of literature, music and philosophy.
Recognized both in France and internationally, she works with prestigious institutions such as the Festival d'Avignon, Théâtre National de Chaillot, Comédie-Française, Opéra de Paris, and many others.
Beyond her work as a choreographer, Karine Saporta is a talented musician and singer. Her passion for art is expressed through various forms of expression, notably music, where she creates sophisticated and emotionally rich compositions, captivating her audiences with her spellbinding voice.
Her latest challenge is the sung setting of Phèdre, a project she will present at the iconic New Morning venue. She aims to give a contemporary, musical dimension to this classic work, exploring Racine's alexandrines through frenzied rhythms and sophisticated melodies.
The title "BRILLANTE" chosen for this project echoes the meaning of the ancient Greek "Phaidra": literally "Brilliant", underlining the brilliance and modernity of this new interpretation.

"The alexandrines that make up Phèdre contain an implicit dance and musicality that it's important today to exalt for their own sake outside the frameworks and conventions of theater.
In this contemporary oratorio, the sensory, directly evocative potential of Racine's poetry outweighs the details of storytelling and narration.
The reduced instrumentarium (piano, guitar, lute, percussion) leaves plenty of room for vocal work, particularly in the creation of spoken rhythms chanted in a post-slam style, alternating with swirling melodic flights of fancy in counterpoint.
