Considered one of the biggest music festivals in France, the Main Square Festival, created in 2004, owes part of its success to the site of the Grand-Place in Arras, where the festival has been held for seven years. During these seven years, festival-goers were able to admire the Grand-Place, considered a unique architectural ensemble in Europe. At the time, this historic site could accommodate around 30,000 festival-goers a day. In the past, the Main Square Festival has played host to the likes of Muse, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Radiohead and Placebo.
Since 2010, the Main Square Festival has been held at the Citadelle Vauban d'Arras, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This new venue has helped the festival to increase its capacity to around 40,000 festival-goers.
After a highly successful anniversary edition in 2024, featuring concerts by Lenny Kravitz, Justice, Avril Lavigne, Placebo, Bring Me The Horizon, Josman, Sam Smith and Zaho de Sagazan, Eddy de Pretto and Ninho, the Main Square announces its return in 2025 for its 21st edition!
Once again, the festival in Northern France plans to keep its loyal regulars dancing for three consecutive days of festivities. Mark your calendars! The Main Square Festival takes place in Arras on Friday July 4, Saturday July 5 and Sunday July 6, 2025.
What about the 2025 line-up ? The Main Square Festival has unveiled the first names confirmed for next summer in Arras. DJ Snake will be there, as will Julien Doré, Mika, Dutch DJ Martin Garrix and Australian electro group Rüfüs Du Sol. For the rest of the line-up, stay tuned!
