After Dingue, Défi and Extra in previous seasons, here's Fantaisie, Cirque Bouglione 's new show for the 2022/2023 season. Fantaisie will run at Cirque d'Hiver from October 22, 2022 to March 5, 2023.
For its new show, the Bouglione family is banking on the timeless circus performers: clowns, acrobats, jugglers, illusionists and, for a small part, animals.
In fact, Fantaisie, whose Mr. Loyal is still Michel Palmer, brings together a dozen artists and troupes. This season's Cirque d'Hiver features Régina Bouglione and her ponies, the clown troupe Les Mangeurs de Lapin, andillusionist Jimmy Saylon.
Also performing are Julot Cousins and his swinging mast, Lucia Martdaz and her aerial hoop, and Antony Cesar, on aerial straps, who appeared on La France a un Incroyable Talent in 2020. The four acrobats of the Jump'n'Roll troupe take to the stilts and Korean plank, while Czech juggler Lena Smaha, a veteran of Patrick Sébastien's Le Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde tour, manipulates red balloons. Last but not least, Peruvian duo Vitalys go hand-in-hand, while Pavel Valla moves around on his giant unicycle.
Our verdict:
When you enter Cirque d'hiver Bouglione, you enter a magical, suspended universe for an afternoon. The immersion is complete: festive music, impressive acts and the famous Monsieur Loyal, overjoyed throughout the show.
Special mention should be made of Lucia Martdaz's aerial hoop act, which offers us a moment of pure poetry, and Antony César's aerial straps act, a cross between dance, circus and choreographed acrobatics in the air. Children will love Julot Cousins' act: in his early sixties, he displays a crazy suppleness and an ironclad mentality at several meters high, on a swinging mast, or the clowns Mangeurs de Lapin, who have no shortage of humor.
Valla Pavel, the cyclist who pedals at an altitude of 9 meters, and the impressively muscular Vitalys duo are also on our minds. It's impossible to talk about the Bouglione circus without mentioning the eponymous family who run it, since the Bougliones are everywhere: the youngest take part in the show, while the oldest run the cash register, welcome the public... In short, we guarantee you over two hours of a complete change of scenery in an unusual venue right in the heart of Paris, so go for it!
Fantaisie is performed (almost) every day, at 2pm and 5:15pm, during school vacations. Outside this period, the show is performed mainly on weekends.
