The Empire Strips Back: Star Wars burlesque show at Théâtre du Gymnase Marie-Bell extended

Ready to embrace the dark side of the force while being entertained like never before? Starting October 6, 2023, the Théâtre du Gymnase Marie-Bell in Paris welcomes The Empire Strips Back: the Burlesque Parody ! Initially performed in a 150-seat venue in Sydney for just three evenings, this unique burlesque show quickly gained in popularity, playing to sold-out houses across Australia and the United States, with appearances at renowned venues such as San Francisco 's Chinatown's Great Star Theater and New York's PlayStation Theater. The show will run until January 2024.

A show we were able to attend as a preview. And we're not going to lie, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the show. Through various tableaux, Star Wars surprisingly comes to life, through dance and striptease, without being raunchy. It's pretty, it's well done and it's very precise in terms of choreography. We love it!

Special mention must go to the costumes, which are beautiful and very well realized. Without spoiler, many of the tableaux are incredible, promising a Whaouh effect like no other. A show of rare freshness, too, blending cabaret in its purest tradition with modern dance, through choreography, music and dancers with diverse backgrounds (both classical and urban, which is particularly evident during the tableaux).
