The novel tells the story of two men, one living in France, M. de la Tour, and the other in China, Lu Wei. Both men are passionately in love with a woman. This novel is a blend of romance and historical fiction, with an incongruous encounter between the two characters. A powerful, poetic and moving text.
Fanny Ardant plays the Duchesse de Clermont, the woman with whom M. de la Tour is infatuated. Laurence Plazenet 's text is directed by Catherine Schaub. The minimalist staging should add an intimate touch to the seul en scène, as Catherine Schaub tries to make the reader imagine the world in which the Duchesse de Clermont finds herself.
