La prochaine fois tu mordras la poussière, a book by humorist Panayotis Pascot, will shortly be adapted and staged by Paul Pascot. The play will run at the Théâtre Antoine in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, from May 28 to 31, 2025, with rising French film star Vassili Schneider.
In his autofictional novel, Panayotis Pascot deals with three subjects: depression, the father/son relationship and acceptance of his homosexuality. The humorist shares his nocturnal reflections with readers. The book doesn't really have a beginning or an end; he conveys his thoughts in bulk, without artifice. La prochaine fois tu mordras la poussière is a humorous and tender analysis of his own life, in which the youngest of the Schneider siblings takes part.
Paul Pascot, the book's adapter and director, is Panayotis Pascot 's brother. A project that resounds like a family project, in which Paul Pascot should bring as much emotion as his brother does to his novel. On stage, you'll find Vassili Schneider, a revelation in The Count of Monte Cristo, as well as actor Yann Pradal. La prochaine fois tu mordras la poussière, Paul Pascot 's adaptation of Panayotis Pascot's book, will be at Théâtre Antoine in May 2025!
Our review:
A theater full of young people like you rarely see! With a play that echoes the problems experienced by many of today's young people, to which we add Vassily Schneider in the lead role, Paul Pascot delivers the perfect recipe for a full house.
Vassily Schneider is brilliant and touching in this self-fictionalized tale that plays with our emotions. Although the play is almost a one-man show, Yann Pradal gives a brilliant performance and, above all, moves us to tears with the contrary feelings he tries to convey to his son. The play may run a little long, but this is quickly erased by the dynamic, colorful and, once again, touching staging. Without spoiling the staging, you should know that you won't necessarily have the same experience depending on where you sit in the theater.
Whether you've read Panayotis Pascot 's book or not, this is a play to discover. Beyond the text, which can be superficial at times, we are captivated and fascinated by Paul Pascot 's direction and Vassily Schneider 's acting. It's easy to see why the play appeals to a young audience, and we hope it won't stop there!
