Bergman's Dämon, El Funeral is not only an eagerly-awaited play in the capital after its triumph at the Avignon Festival, it's also likely to leave a lasting impression. The poignant play, by Angélica Liddell, is performed in Spanish, French and Swedish, with French surtitles, and highlights the demons of Ingmar Bergman, the Swedish filmmaker, while inviting us to confront "our own becoming". It runs from September 26 to October 6 at theOdéon Théâtre de l'Europe.

Angélica Liddell is a Spanish playwright, director and actress born in 1966. She is known for her radical, provocative theater, which explores poignant themes such as violence, suffering and social exclusion, most notably death in Bergman's Dämon, El Funeral. Founder of the Atra Bilis Teatro company, the Spanish artist creates works that are often autobiographical, and are renowned for their ability to upset and confront audiences with difficult realities.
